EBSnet, an established Internet software provider since 1987, announced the establishment of their RTOS division, On Time Software, in cooperation their long time development partner On Time Informatik. The RTOS division offices are located in Groton, Massachusetts at the headquarters of EBSnet, and establish EBSnet as the exclusive US distributor of On Time Software’s RTTarget/RTKernel. Developed originally for Intel X86 CPUs, EBSnet has made the popular kernel available for RISC platforms such as PowerPC, Coldfire, MIPS, ARM, and Xscale.
The core of the RTOS offering is RTTarget-32, a Win32 subset operating system for Intel 80386 and higher embedded systems. Programs are developed under Microsoft Windows using standard 32-bit compilers (e.g. Borland C/C++, Microsoft Visual C/C++, Borland Delphi). Executable files built with these compilers are processed by RTTarget-32 to run on the target system.
The On Time Software RTKernel-32 is a powerful real-time multitasking scheduler for 32-bit x86 embedded systems. RTKernel-32 is compact (about 16k code, 6k data), fast, and offers excellent real-time response times. All RTKernel-32 threads run within a single program (single process, multi-threaded).
EBSnet’s RTKernel-RISC makes the solid, time-tested RTOS available to embedded systems developers using the faster RISC platforms, including the new Freescale’s™ fast, low power MPC5200 PowerPC chip. The addition of RTKernel to the EBSnet product offering completes the Internet software suite that EBSnet has developed over 17 years.
