The Advanced SNMP Agent was designed by EBSnet’s Development Partner, DMH Software, and is now available for EBSnet’s suite of network applications. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) defines a standard way to encode network management messages. By utilizing SNMP, network administrators can monitor networks to gather and modify diagnostic data such as MIB (Management Information Base) data and to test embedded network devices such as switches, routers, network infrastructure equipment, storage area network devices, etc.. By interpreting and analyzing MIBs, administrators can detect potential problem areas in the network and stop costly breakdowns before they occur.
The Advanced SNMP Agent is an enhanced version of SNMP (v1, v2c and/or v3) that automates SNMP agent MIB creation, making development of scalars and tabular MIB objects fast and easy via the MIB compiler.
